Learn how to use the TOP Structure

As a TOP Structure Practitioner, you will be equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to shape better organizational systems within and around your area of influence, by running successful TOP Cycles in your own context.

On your TOP Practitioner learning journey, you will learn how to use:

  • TOP Goals to align people on a common mission
  • TOP Principles to identify improvement potential
  • TOP Coalitions to collaborate better outside your immediate team
  • TOP Cycles to turn improvement potential into tangible results
  • TOP Patterns to maximize the impact of your changes

TOP Structure Practitioners engage in cohort learning groups where they learn under the guidance of an Authorized TOP Structure Trainer, who guides practitioners on their learning journey.

By attending official TOP Structure training courses, you are awarded the "TOP Structure practitioner" designation.

Accreditation represents course attendance. TOP Structure Practitioner accreditation remains valid indefinitely.
We would also like to encourage TOP practitioners seeking to support clients with the TOP Structure to continue their learning journey and become a TOP Consultant.

Becoming a Practitioner

You will learn about the TOP Structure in an online, cohort-based learning model, with weekly 2-hour sessions.
Cohorts are peer groups of 3-12 fellow learners, with whom you will meet, collaborate and exchange every week over the course period of three months (12 weeks.)
Each 2-hour session will follow this setup:
  1. Practice review (30min) - What did you learn in applying the techniques from the last session - and how could you improve on that?
  2. Theory module (20min) - You will learn one piece of TOP Structure theory.
  3. Application (30min) - You will apply the theory you just learned in a classroom setting.
  4. Assignment (5min) - You will receive specific instructions on how to apply the module's learning in your own context.
  5. Questions & Answers (25min) - Time to ask your own questions and get further guidance.
  6. Module Retrospective (10min) - Learning Summary and Retrospective
